Toys for Tots and Teens: make this Christmas special for children of all ages

As you are out starting your Christmas shopping, please consider picking up an extra new gift for a tot or teen, who might not otherwise have something under the tree this year.

Patti Schick, who has been the coordinator for this effort that’s been ongoing for about 20 years, says unwrapped new gifts can be dropped off at the Palmer Auto Service lobby now through Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.

BIRTHDAY350G1_GiftBox_PMThankYou_7The lobby tree is expected to be up by Thanksgiving weekend and everyone is invited to stop by, see the tree and drop off a gift.

“There is always a huge need for gifts for teens,” Schick says, suggesting items such as makeup, curling irons, age-appropriate games, radios, but no clothing.

She says people love to shop for cute dolls and toys for the younger children but this year please consider keeping an eye out for something fun for an older child.

“All the gifts are taken to Faith in Action and stay local,” she says, adding that they don’t have to cost a lot of money.

She says that employees at Jiffy Mix have always collected a large number of toys as have classrooms of school children.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has donated in the past and hope that they consider participating in the Toys For Tots and Teens 2013 effort,” she says.

If you have questions, you can contact Schick at 475-1145 or email her through www.chelseamichamber.org

“Please help make this Christmas special for every child,” she says.
