Toys for Tots and Teens: Please Donate, Deadline Dec. 12

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bridget Favre for the information in this story.)

With the holiday season fast approaching, Palmer Auto Service is making a final call for donations to the 2024 Toys for Tots and Teens toy drive. Donations must be received by noon on Dec. 12, to ensure children and teens in need experience the joy of the holidays.

For more than 36 years, this cherished community tradition has brought smiles to local youth during the holidays. Each year, donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards are collected at Palmer Auto Service and distributed by Faith in Action (FIA) to families throughout Chelsea and surrounding areas.

HOW TO DONATE

New, Unwrapped Toys: Drop them off in the contactless collection box outside Palmer Auto Service, located at 222 South Main St. or place under the indoor tree during business hours (8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday).

Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase gift cards from local businesses, helping families in need while supporting the local economy.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

“Toys for Tots and Teens is about more than just giving gifts,” said Palmer Auto Services’ owner Bob Mock. “It’s about creating moments of joy and showing our children and teens that their community cares for them. Each donation makes a difference.”

The program was founded in 1988 by Suzie Palmer Weber and has grown significantly over the years, becoming a core part of Chelsea’s Hometown Holiday celebrations. Today, it continues to serve children and teens of all ages, ensuring no one is left out during the season of giving.
