You won’t want to miss the Tree of Life Cultural Arts Studio performance on Saturday, June 8, at Pinckney High School.

The student will perform a tribute to the life and works of Michael Jackson in a show called “Remember the Time.”

The performance begins at 7 p.m. in the Pinckney High School Auditorium, 10255 Dexter-Pinckney Road.

The show will feature Tree of Life students performing cultural dance routines to the music of Michael Jackson and will include African drumming and dancing, tribal style belly dance, Raks Sharqi Style belly dance, burlesque, contemporary, hoops, Zumba and more.

There will be special guest performers from the Pinckney Dance Program as well.

Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 433-0697 or by visiting the studio at 6065 Sibley Road.

Tickets are $12 at the door.

The Tree of Life is a small family-owned cultural arts studio that specializes in cultural drum and dance, says Dania Dunlap-Hurden, who calls “this organization a hidden gem in the City of Chelsea.”

Its proprietors are husband and wife Sundance DiDomenico and Jennifer Giacomelli, Dunlap-Hurden says.

“What many people don’t know is that the Tree of Life is in the background supporting the community through participating in a variety of things, including school events like Geography Night, participating in the Sounds and Sights festival and the Chelsea Fair parade and they even open their doors free of charge for a monthly drum jam,” she says.
