Two Lima Township locations burglarized in two days

A convenience store and a church have been burglarized this week according to information from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

This morning, deputies responded to an alarm at the Chelsea Convenience Store on Old US-12 where they found a smashed front door and items missing, and on Monday, they responded to an alarm at St. Vladimir Orthodox Church on Jackson Road to find a smashed window and money missing.

At about 3 a.m. on Nov. 13,  deputies discovered that the front glass door of the convenience store had been smashed and alcohol and cigarettes had been taken, according to the police report.

At 2 a.m. on Nov. 12, deputies arrived at the church to find a window had been broken and a suspect or suspects had rummaged through the main office and stolen an unknown amount of cash, which “had been collected through donations over the weekend,” according to the police report.

In both cases, there are no suspects but investigations are ongoing.
