United in worship: St. Paul, First Congregational churches enjoy fellowship

The combined St. Paul's and First Congregational church choirs.

With Pastors Jim Coyl of St. Paul United Church of Christ and Joe Jeffreys of the First Congregational Church of Chelsea officiating, members of both churches attended a special outdoor service under a tent Sunday, Aug. 26.

In addition, Keilor Kastella led the two church choirs who united in song while parishioners were gathering under the tent.

“Welcome to the tractor pull,” Coyl joked as he introduced himself to the congregation. He said that he and Jeffreys had a dual vision “of unity and togetherness of the two congregations under one roof,” for the special service.

The prelude was sung by Kelsee Brinklow with Doug Beaumont on the guitar.

The combined service was planned as way for both congregations to come together during fair week for worship followed by a pot luck.
