Chelsea will hold a Veterans Day tribute on Sunday, Nov. 11 beginning at 1 p.m. at Veterans Park to honor all those who have served this country.

“Veterans are invited to attend a ceremony paying tribute to all who served and sacrificed in war,” according to information about the event.

At 1 p.m., there will be a welcome and posting of the colors and a performance of “She’s a Grand Old Flag” by South Meadows Elementary students, which will be followed by remarks by James Alford of Chelsea, who served in the Army during Vietnam.

Following the tribute, people are invited to the Village Conference Center (next to the Comfort Inn) at 2 p.m. for light fare and refreshments and the screening of the Korean War documentary, which is a collection of perspectives of the war as told by “community heroes who experienced it first-hand.”

The documentary is part of the Chelsea District Library’s Stories of Chelsea series and this film was made possible through a partnership between the Chelsea American Legion Post 31, the library and Video Farm Productions.

Veterans are encouraged to wear uniforms.
