Volunteers Needed for Zero Waste Efforts at Sounds and Sights Festival

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Megan McCall for the information in this story.)

Chelsea’s summer festival is back this year.

The Sounds and Sights Festival, July 29 and 30, will be a little greener, too, through the efforts of Chelsea Zero Waste Coalition and the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce.

Compostable and recyclable materials will be collected this year in the social tent and food court, reducing the amount of trash sent to the landfill.

Look for the three section bins and helpful volunteers at Washtenaw Zero Waste stations.

More volunteers are being sought to help with this effort. If you are interested in helping the environment while supporting a wonderful local event, contact Megan McCall at [email protected].
