The Washtenaw Whippets field hockey team got two late second half goals from Maggie Cole, assisted by her sister Meghan Cole, to defeat the defending Division 2 state champions Ann Arbor Skyline 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Last week, the Whippets also defeated Division 1 state champions, Ann Arbor Huron 1-0 on a goal from Jessie Olmstead. Hannah Moore had 8 saves in goal for the win. But the week was bittersweet as although the Whippets controlled most of the game, they fell to Bloomfield Hills Marion by a score of 1-0.

The Whippets play their next game at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7 behind Pierce Lake School.  Varsity plays at 4:15 p.m., JV plays at 5:45 p.m.
