Washtenaw Whippets field hockey teams notch shutout wins over Edsel Ford

Both the JV and varsity field hockey teams, the Washtenaw Whippets, came home victorious after playing Edsel Ford on Thursday.

The varsity scored an 11-0 shutout and several players scored for the first time.

In fact, seven different players scored during the game.

Those who scored were Kristen Newman (2), Maggie Cole (1), Meghan Cole (1), Sarah Mesko (2), Kayla Hewitt (2), Julia Porter (2) and Gabbie Wink (1).

The JV won 1-0 and Madalyn Allen scored the goal with the assist from Gwen Lansky.

The Whippets are comprised of Chelsea, Manchester and Pinckney students.
