Chelsea girls track and field team came away with one win and one loss in the double meet with Pinckney and Ypsilanti Community Schools held at Ypsilanti on Tuesday night, April 30.

Chelsea defeated Ypsilanti 76-14 but lost to Pinckney 80-25, while four events could not be contested due to the weather and conditions at certain events.

“I am proud of how our team managed the meet,” said coach Loren Thorburn. “Specifically, we had four athletes set new personal records (PRs) given the tough weather conditions. We will continue to prepare ourselves for the championship meets these next two weeks.”

Personal record highlights:

Riley Davis jumped 5′ 2 in the high jump

Jordan Holton threw 34′ 2″ in the shot put

Breanne Black jumped 9’0″ to tie her PR in the pole vault.

Natalie Davies ran a 5:48 in 1600m which is her PR.
