Women’s Advent Service at Chelsea First United Methodist Church

Chelsea First United Methodist Church will hold its 2012 Women’s Advent Service on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 7-9 p.m.

“The Women’s Advent Service is an opportunity to relax and catch your breath, to reflect on Christmas and all that it offers,” according to information from the church.

The MOPS and MOMs groups invite all women (regardless of church/religion) to gather and begin the Advent season together, according to information about the event.

“The Christmas season will soon be upon us. There will be shopping, baking, parties, cards, photos, mall Santas and presents – all kinds of opportunities to get so caught up in the chaos and the details, that we forget what that first Christmas was all about – Jesus,” the information states.

The church groups invite all women to join them at the church at 128 Park St., “as we prepare for a meaningful Christmas and experience a service that you will leave with feelings of peace, love, joy and hope that will carry you through Advent and beyond.”

There will be a variety of delicious desserts and coffee will be served in Grams Halls at 7 p.m. and at 8 p.m., “hear moving stories of Hope, Peace, Love and Joy.”

If you would like to attend, please RSVP by Nov. 23rd to ensure that there are enough tables and desserts prepared.  Here’s the Facebook link or call 475-8119.

  1. The church is host for the MOPS and MOMS groups, but these groups are chapters of national non-denominational groups and are not official groups of the church. They are hosting the Women’s Advent Service at the church. The service is not an actual program of CFUMC. I know it can be hard to distinguish, but many MOPS and MOMS members belong to other churches and plan this ceremony for all women.
