The Chelsea First United Methodist Church will host the premiere performance of Chelsea’s own, Brian Brill, who has just completed a composition called “The Wesley Project,” a musical composition based on hymn tunes of Charles Wesley.
Wesley, an English hymn writer, was also a poet and preacher and during his lifetime wrote more than 5,500 hymns, according to biographical information.
The world premiere performance of this work will take place on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 128 Park St. with convenient parking.
The concert is free and everyone is invited.
“The Wesley Project” is scored for hand bells, strings, piano and flute, according to information about the event.
