Yellow Door breakfast on Dec. 31 to benefit Faith in Action

Everyone is invited to spend New Year’s Eve morning at a special Yellow Door benefit breakfast on from 9 a.m. to noon at the Chelsea Community Fair Grounds reception center.

The breakfast is a fundraiser for Faith in Action in both Chelsea and Dexter and a chance to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast and help FIA at the same time.

The menu is being finalized and will feature three entree choices, coffee and juice. Guests are asked to make a donation of $15 (or more) at the door.

Chef Paul Cousins (of the former Cousins Heritage Inn) will prepare one of his signature dishes for the event.

“Faith in Action has done such a great job in both Dexter and Chelsea,” Cousins said of his involvement. “It’s a great organization and as a Dexter Rotary member, we donated produce from our plot in the community garden to them.”

All ingredients on the menu are purchased from local providers thru Lunasa, which links producers and consumers of local goods, year round, through an online order system and an in-person distribution transfer location.

“This Yellow Door is a great way to end the old year and start a new one,” Cousins said.

Watch for more details to come, said Todd Ortbring, who sent the information about the event.
