Game recap:

Pennfield scored off of an early penalty on Chelsea and then took a 2-goal lead.  With 7:18 to go in the first quarter, freshman Tyler Wallgren put the Bulldogs on the score board off an assist from Doug Zarinnia.

Cam Breining would add 2 more goals and Max Gervais would add a goal to give Chelsea a 3-goal lead.

But Chelsea would get a penalty and Pennfield scored 2 goals to tie the game going into the 2nd quarter. In the second quarter, the snow began to fall and it was a back and forth game with Pennfield holding a 1-goal lead at half time.  During half time the snow continued to fall, and the lines needed to be cleared on the field. Plus, the snow made it almost impossible for a goalie or anyone to track a white ball between the snowflakes.

The second half started out with Spencer Gobba and Riley Sumner scoring to give Chelsea a 1-goal lead. Again, Pennfield would battle back and score 3 unanswered goals before Max Gervais would bring the Bulldogs within one goal.

Pennfield finished the quarter with 2 more goals giving them a 3-goal advantage going into the 4th quarter.  The Bulldog defense would rise up, led by Evan Kucera, Jake Seitz, Nick Brough, and Aidan Delwiche.

Sumner won the 4th quarter faceoff and scored on a fast break. He then won the second face off and got the ball to Aidan Boote who would find the back of the net 32 seconds later.

An unsportsmanlike penalty on Pennfield would give the Bulldogs an extra man advantage and Gobba would be the first to capitalize and tie the game.  Sumner scored the go-ahead goal with 5:52 left in the game and Zarinnia would add an insurance goal with 5:02 left in the game.

The Bulldog defense continued to hold as the snow fell. With 47 seconds left in the game, Pennfield cut the lead in half.

Sumner was 19 and 4 on face off wins at that point and won what would be the final in the game, holding off Pennfild for the win.
