‘Pitchers’ perfect’: Chelsea softball on 12-0 win streak

On Wednesday, April 25, the Chelsea varsity softball team played a single game with the visiting Huron River Rats.

The Bulldogs were led by junior pitcher Hayley Townsend who threw 5 strong innings in Chelsea’s 13-1 victory. Offensively, Chelsea was led by Maddie Vasquez who went 2 for 3 at the plate and drove in 4 RBI’s.

Emily Savery and Haley Townsend also contributed with 2 RBIs each. 

With the win, Chelsea improves its record to a perfect 12-0.

Note: The double header that was scheduled with Ypsilanti High School today has been cancelled. Instead, the Bulldogs will play a single game against the Saline Hornets starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Chelsea Softball Complex.

The Bulldogs will also be hosting a round robin tournament this Saturday, April 28 against Salem, Gibraltar Carlson and Jackson high schools starting at 10 a.m.
