The Saturday Chelsea Farmers Market kicked off its season April 30, and is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Palmer lot through October. This week’s non-profit is Interfaith Council of Faith and Justice.

Shoppers can get a hot, freshly roasted cup of coffee every Saturday at the Chelsea Farmers Market.

Father and son Wally and John LeBlanc, are the owners of Fresh coffee, a micro-roaster out of Saline, and they say the Chelsea Farmers Market is their biggest selling venue.

“This is our sixth year in business,” said John LeBlanc. “This market has such a friendly crowd.”

Fresh offers 6-ounce and 12-ounce cups of coffee as well as a selection of coffee beans. The LeBlancs ask for “fair pay” on the cups of coffee, meaning it’s up to the customers what they want to pay.

“Everything is roasted on the Wednesday or Thursday before the market,” said John LeBlanc. “We have Guatemalan coffee year-round because that’s our biggest seller.”

He describes it as a mild bean. Fresh rotates its other coffees, which include two Indonesian beans-Sulawesi and Timor, an organic bean.

Fresh offers new varieties every month and always has a decaffeinated choice.

Below is a list of vendors who are expected to be at the market on May 7. Please be aware that sometimes vendors are not able to attend the market or may not have the items that they planned to bring.
