2 Former Chelsea High School Baseball Players Headed to NJCAA College World Series

Former Chelsea High School Baseball Players Hunter Lay (Class of 2019) and Hunter Shaw (Class of 2022) are headed to the NJCAA Division II Baseball College World Series in Enid, OK on May 27-June 2 after winning the Great Lakes District Championship.

They play for Lansing Community College. Hunter Lay is a COVID sophomore and Hunter Shaw is a freshman, who has committed to play for OSU baseball in the fall. 

The LCC Stars’ record for the season is 47-10. LCC beat Kellogg Community College in the Great Lake District Championship game at Jackson Community College 16-8, scoring 8 runs in the 8th inning to put them up, including back-to-back homeruns by Will Bowen and Hunter Lay.

Hunter Shaw was named MVP of the Tournament for his performance on the mound.
