Feb. 29: Representatives from Dawn Farm to speak to Chelsea Kiwanis

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club appreciates the support the community has given to our fundraising activities, which allows us to direct resources to worthy local organizations, especially those which work to develop children into great citizens.

This Monday, Feb. 29, the club will hear from Megan Rodgers and Matt Passanante from Dawn Farm, a local non-profit, which offers a continuum of services to assist addicts and alcoholics in achieving long-term recovery.

They will debut the new Dawn Farm film and explain the importance and impact that community support has on their organization.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

And … don’t forget to save the date. The Kiwanis Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Chelsea Retirement Community sponsored by Chelsea High School Key Club and Kiwanis will be the day before Easter this year on March 26.

The Easter Bunny will begin the festivities at 9:30 a.m.

Everyone is invited to the meetings to learn about Kiwanis and click www.kiwanisclubofchelsea.org for more information.
