County clerk/register’s office closed until April 6

By order of the Washtenaw County Administrator to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Washtenaw County Clerk/Register’s office has closed to the public and staffing levels will be greatly reduced until April 6.

Washtenaw County Clerk/Register Lawrence Kestenbaum said in a press release, “This is a national emergency. Every one of us is called on to do what we can to protect public health. We are striving to provide essential county services as quickly and carefully as possible.”

The Clerk/Register’s office will not be available in-person or by phone during this time.

The following services will continue ONLINE and BY MAIL and staff will be available to respond to questions by email:

Order Certified Copies of Vital Records (Birth, Death & Marriage records) through the

Vital Records Self Service Website: https://ssvital.ewashtenaw.org/web/

Obtain Copies of Recorded Land Records (Deeds, Mortgages, etc.) through the
