The Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed La Jument Equestrian Lifestyle Boutique located at 1060 South Main St. in Chelsea, with a ribbon cutting on July 7.

The family-owned business sells high quality products for an equestrian lifestyle that includes a special focus on young riders, too.

The store’s grand opening was on June 4. Why did owners Juliane and Jordan Knepper choose Chelsea for the store’s location?

“Chelsea is horse home for us with all the shows between Waterloo and Woodbine, and there was nothing for the hunter/jumper rider in this area,” said co-owner Jordan Knepper.

They’re hoping to draw clients from a 30-40 mile radius. Among the items La Jument sells are riding apparel and lifestyle apparel, boots, and horse care goods.

“Our specialties include custom boots, exclusive European clothing lines, high quality hunter/ jumper (English) riding goods from the U.S. and Europe with amazing quality boutique goods from lifestyle apparel, kids goods, home goods and so much more,” said Knepper.

La Jument’s hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays noon-6 p.m., Thursdays noon-7 p.m., and Saturdays 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
