Saturday: Chelsea Area Garden Club plant sale in Palmer parking lot

Chelsea-Area-Garden-Club

Here’s a reminder about the Chelsea Area Garden Club’s 15th annual plant sale this Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at 222 S. Main St., in the old Palmer Family Ford-Mercury lot.

The sale will open 30 minutes earlier than in previous years.

Expect to find sun and shade plants, including perennials, herbs, wildflowers, ornamental grasses, daylilies and shrubs, and the best part — a majority of plants are $5 or less.

Mary Randolph, Cathy Gillem and Janet Wamboldt are co-chairs of this year’s sale.

Plants have been donated by the club’s more than 60 members, neighbors and friends. (Including some from my gardens.)

Since 1999, the garden club has given back to the community more than $24,500, including almost $13,600 for plants and materials for civic beautification.

(Publisher’s note: I am a member of the garden club.)
