Chelsea Update and Global Marketplace present a community icicle photo contest

chelsea-icicle-contest

It’s time to stop grumbling about the cold and snow and embrace it. With a photo.

Chelsea Update and Global Marketplace would like you to keep an eye out for icicles.

Yes, icicles.

When you find a cool or pretty one, snap a photo and send it to us at [email protected] with the subject line Icicle.

Think pretty background or unusual shape or length. Something that makes your icicle (or icicles) stand out as the very best one in all of Chelsea.

There’s only one requirement, really, the icicle must be found somewhere in the Chelsea community – so that would be the city, Dexter, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships. Grass Lake residents are invited to the party, too.

In addition to being published on Chelsea Update, Global Marketplace has agreed to sponsor the contest and the winning photo will receive warm gloves or mittens, a hat and scarf.

Entries will be judged by the staff of Chelsea Update as well as Kevin Frahm, owner of Global Marketplace.

Once a winner has been chosen we’ll contact you and arrange a time for you to pick up your gift and run your photo on Chelsea Update wearing your prizes as well.

So have some fun in the … cold … Chelsea, and get creative.

Photos must be submitted by March 7 and the winner will be announced on Chelsea Update on Monday, March 19 – the last official day of winter.

Oh, and of course, the photos remain the property of the photographer.

And since we always give credit where credit’s due, we’d like to thank Andy Sacks for suggesting this idea.
