Come and welcome August and its bounty this Wednesday at the Chelsea Farmers Market.

Pregitzer Farm has returned to the Wednesday market with seasonal vegetables including corn, zucchini, squash and green beans.

Wade Pregitzer’s farm is located in Munith, and he welcomes visitors interested in learning about farm life and eating locally.

Pregitzer Farm prioritizes for healthy soil and uses conventional tillage and Integrated Pest Management to control weeds, an environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. Most plants are grown in plastic culture to preserve moisture and control weeds.

You’ll also find tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and plenty of greens at the market along with cherries and blueberries, fresh baked goods, and crafts including wooden bowls, pottery, bird houses, and soy candles.

The market runs from 1-5 p.m., and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US 12.

Among the vendors at this season’s Wednesday market are Jacob’s Fresh Farm Shares, K’s Acres, Needle-Lane Farms, Pregitzer Farm, Bordine Farms, Golden Fleece Farms, Marks Farm, Kapnick Orchards, Affeathermations, LA Baguette, Stone Hearth Bakery, Awakened Provisions, Sweet & Salty (cookies), Smellz So Good (candles), and Jam Man.
