Beach Middle School 8th grade volleyball finishes home games

(Correction: This story recapped the team’s last home game. The season continues for the 8th grade team with away matches.)

The Beach Middle School Chelsea 8th grade volleyball team played its last home game of the season against Saline, losing 25-20, 8-25, 20-25

Some highlights of the game came from Avery Lay, who had a strong presence at the net.

“It was one of the best games I have seen her play,” said coach Pennie Ward.

Shea Hephner was top server. “Shea is a very consistent server,” Ward said.

Maggie McKale also put some points on the scoreboard.

Each game the girls showed improvement in on court awareness and knowing what their responsibility is. We talk about Ball-Setter-Ball Hitter. It is hard not to just watch the ball, the coach said.
