Chelsea track coach Eric Swager said coaches brought a small squad to the Mason Invite on Friday night and finished 8th out of 12 teams.
“We brought a small squad to this meet with the intent of running some focused races, rather than loading up the meet for team results,” Swager said.
Some of the highlights are below:
Brennan Van Riper earned a medal with an outstanding 200-meter race
Colton Trevino ran a very competitive 400 to take runner-up honors
Distance runners Foster Thorburn, Carson Rabbitt, and Jensen Holm all earned medals.
There were several other season bests including Will Scott, Peter Fredenberg, and Jonas Norwood.
The team jumps back into action today and will compete in a tough SEC tri meet at Ypsilanti with the Grizzlies and defending SEC champs Pinckney.
