Chelsea football begins season 0-2, losing Thursday night to East Lansing

Chelsea football is now winless this season following a 27-0 loss to East Lansing Thursday night.

The Bulldogs (0-2) traveled to Lynn C Adams Stadium, mustering only 127 yards of total offense, while the Trojans (2-1) motored for 305 yards for the team’s second win of the season.

The score was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter before the Trojans added 6 points on a 34-yard pass from quarterback Jake Pendred to Javon Haine at the 5:06 mark on the eight-play, 66-yard drive that took 3:25.

Chelsea then blocked the extra point.

In the third quarter, Arman Mughal scored on a 1-yard run, which capped an 11-play 80-yard drive with Ali Kamali kicking the extra point to put the Trojans up 13-0. In the fourth quarter, East Lansing added another 14 points to secure the shutout.

Bulldog quarterback Logan Brown went 9 for 19 in pass completions for 73 yards while Colton Platt caught five balls for 29 yards for the night. Berkley Edwards had 50 yards rushing, his longest was 21 yards.

The Bulldogs converted just three of 13 third-downs attempts and were outmatched on the road.
