Chelsea Girls Track and Field coach Loren Thorburn characterized the athlete’s trip to the Golden Triangle Invitational on May 3 as “a good showing.”

Held at Saline High School, there were no team scores kept and 50-plus teams were represented.

The Golden Triangle Invitational is one of the largest and most competitive meets in the State of Michigan. Bulldog athletes represented well.

Highlights:

Riley Davis placed in a two-way tie for 4th place in the high jump with a height of 5′ 0″.

Kyle Bragg threw a 91′ 8″ (a personal record) in the discus to make to the finals. Allison Hause placed 6th in the 1600m run held in the afternoon session with a time of 5:38.10.

Riley Thorburn placed 2nd in the 800m run in the afternoon session with a time of 2:27.57 (a PR).

Kendra Patterson made the finals of the 100m hurdles and clocked a 17:56.

In the 3200m Run Gold heat, which was held in the afternoon session, Natalie Davies and Morgan Kurth placed 6th and 8th, respectively. Natalie ran 12:07.52 and Morgan ran 12:17.04 (PRs for each).

The Distance Medley Relay team (comprised of Jacqueline Taylor, Kendra Patterson, Lily Maynard, and Kate Gaiser) all ran PRs and just missed the 8th place by less than three seconds.

Chelsea hosts the SEC White Divisional Championship on Thursday, May 9 beginning at 2 p.m.

The team hopes that fans will attend.

Go Bulldogs.
