The Chelsea City Planning Commission unanimously approved Chelsea Community Hospital’s combined preliminary and final site plan for the new Cancer Center’s about 2,200-square foot Linear Acceleator addition and a new building entrance at its meeting Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Phil Boham, vice president of development, told the Planning Commission that once complete, the new Cancer Center entrance will have a ground level entrance and the former ambulance entrance will become the location of the linear accelerator.
Other extensive renovations will take place in the interior of the hospital for comprehensive cancer treatments.
Last week, the hospital held a ground breaking for the new Cancer Center will be completed by the end of this year.
