Chelsea Senior Center benefit ‘Festival of Tables’ on Feb. 2

The second annual Chelsea Festival of Tables will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2.Tf you’re not familiar with the event, community members and groups decorate tables with fun and unique themes, according to information about the event.

So far, this year’s themes include: “UM/MSU House Divided”, “Enchanted World of Gnomes and Fairies”, “Baker’s Dozen Book Club”, and “An Afternoon with Monet” – to name just a few.

Several community groups will decorate a table to represent themselves –

including the Adult Learners Institute, SRSLY, Chelsea Area Garden Club, and Youth Dance Theater.

Tickets are $20 and include a delicious lunch provided by Laura’s Catering and will include the ever popular Common Grill rolls.

Doors open at 11 a.m. for table viewing and voting and lunch is served at noon. Last year, the event drew almost 100 people and the committee anticipates an even larger turnout this year at its new location, St. Mary’s Parish Hall on Old US-12.

“I am always amazed at the number of fresh, new, creative table themes the hosts and hostesses develop and can hardly wait to see the results,” said Sharon Pignanelli, event chairwoman, adding, “What a wonderful break from the gray days of winter.”

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at the Chelsea Senior Center until Jan. 25. For more information about the event, call 734-475-9242 or go to www.chelseaseniors.org.

The center is in the Washington Street Education Center, 512 E. Washington St., and office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
