Chelsea Update is running a series on businesses in Chelsea beginning with businesses that belong to the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.

Kitty and Company interior design was founded in 2006, and is owned by Kitty Golding.

About 80 percent of what Kitty and Company designs is residential and the rest are contract or commercial spaces. Most of the work they do is whole house renovation, whether it’s starting over at an existing home or new construction or remodeling.

“We also consult and design any interior space that the client needs help with, such as a family room or a bedroom, or paint finishes for the home,” said Golding. “We try to be flexible to meet the needs of our clients, in both project size and styles ranging from contemporary to traditional and cottage to the very trendy industrial farmhouse style.”

Golding has been working in the design field for 26 years and prides herself on staying current on new design trends, attending furniture and accessory design markets, and locally based design seminars each year.

“One of the best parts of the business is the relationships that are built with our clients,” said Golding. “The ‘and Company’ part represents not only the people that work for me but the team of people that make our vision a reality. Some of those talents include our seamstress, artists, tile installers and builders.”

Golding’s studio is located at 6065 Sibley Road, and her website as of Sept. 1 will be www.Kittyandcompany.net.

“I love being in Chelsea as it brings me closer to the places I do business, including my children’s schools, Chelsea Lumber Company, the Chelsea Print Shop and more,” she said.
