If you’re interested in receiving one-on-one counseling, or in upcoming workshops about relationships, consider Timber Creek Counseling.

It opened in August at 134 West Middle St., Suite 1, in downtown Chelsea. Psychologist Andrew Cuthbert is the clinical director and Psychologists Angela Argento and Jonathan Blair offer oversight and supervision.

“Timber Creek prides itself on providing comprehensive care and offering an array of counseling, assessment, consultation, and speaking engagement services,” said Cuthbert, who currently has openings. “Our treatment approach is compassionate-first, evidence-based, individualized, and strengths-focused. We serve anyone from 5 years old to older adults.”

Cuthbert has specializations in couple’s counseling, complex problems, and people going through stressful life transitions or changes.

“We are offering two marriage ‘tune-up’ workshops on Oct. 25, 6-8 p.m., or on Oct. 27, 2-4 p.m.,” said Cuthbert. “The workshops are meant to be a space for anyone in a relationship who wants to give their relationship a little attention and care. It is both for couples who feel they are doing great and those who are in the middle of a rough patch.”
The workshops will cover such topics as managing emotions, getting through sticky arguments, and effective communication.

Timber Creek will offer other workshops in the coming months on topics including Aging Well, Mindfulness for Teens and Adults, and Parenting after Divorce.

Cuthbert says it’s important to him to be a member of the Chelsea community, which is one of the main reasons he joined the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Our hope is to not just be counselors stuck back in an office, but to really be a part of the pain and healing that occurs here in Chelsea,” he said.

Cuthbert says they’ll be adding staff in the future and invites anyone interested in learning more to go to www.timbercreekcounseling.com.

In addition, everyone is invited to a ribbon cutting for the business on Nov. 1 from 5-7 p.m.
