“We wrestled well and every one of our wrestlers showed improvement,” was how Bulldog Wrestling Coach Adam French summed up Chelsea’s 7th place finish at the tournament and 4th place finish in the red division this weekend.
Placing for Chelsea were:
1st at 145 Steve Bleise
3rd at 171 Dan Wisniewski
5th at 160 Zach Bennett
5th at 189 Ryan Eisley
5th at 285 Jacob Gaken
“I was particularly pleased with Steve’s wrestling (he pinned or teched everyone he wrestled today),” the coach said, adding, “He continues to get tougher each week.”
He said he was “happy to see Dan wrestle well after being out of the line up for a week with an minor injury and avenging a loss in the consolation finals.”
“Some of our younger guys (Zach, Ryan, and Jacob) also had terrific performances to end up placing,” he said, adding, “The kids have worked hard all year and things are starting to pay off. I am looking forward to individual districts in Milan.”
