The Beach Middle School girls cross country team finished 5th out of 19 teams in the B division at Portage Invitational, 2.5 K (1.55 mile run), in Kalamazoo on Saturday.
Trilian Krug lead the team with a time of 9:28 placing 7th overall out of 496 runners in the B/C race with a medal to show. Her teammates stepped up and ran strong, too, to help the team place well.
They include Seren Angus 42nd (10:19), Marah Putnam 52nd (10:31), Cristina Roberts 84th (10:54), Addison Sinkwitts 91st (10:57), Sam Dark 122nd (11:15), Lauren Thompson 170th (11:37), Lily Paddock 326th (13:01), and Ireland Potter 339th (13:06).

Connell Alford lead the team with a first place finish out of 451 runners with a time of 8:14, which was the fastest time in all middle school division races.
Jackie Dell ran very fast (8:57) to place 15th in the B/C race, which earned him a medal.
Also, their teammates ran very well and passed many runners to help the team place high. They include Misha McElrath 65th (9:45), Evan Muchler 71st (9:51), Connor Zatkovich 218th (11:14), Gavin Busch 221st (11:16), and Xavier Navin 305th (12:06).
