Dec. 19: Chelsea firefighters to ring Salvation Army bell, stuff a fire truck for Faith in Action

A scene from a previous Chelsea Area Fire Authority “stuff a Truck” event to benefit Faith in Action.

(Chelsea Update would like to thank CAFA Fire Capt. Scott Basar for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority firefighters will be outside Family Farm and Home on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.  for a two-fold purpose.

Firefighters will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army red kettle drive and hosting a Stuff a Fire Truck event encouraging folks to bring non-perishable items, canned goods, baby diapers and food, or hats, gloves, socks or coats, which will be loaded into the fire truck that will be parked there and donated to Faith in Action after Jan. 5, 2021.

In addition, there are currently several bins outside Fire Station 1 on Middle Street where people can drop off donation items through Jan. 5, 2021.

Firefighters also hung a banner outside Polly’s to remind folks about the food drive.

Because of COVID this year, people have been hit even harder than in previous years so donations of any amount are even more important than ever to help local people in need.
