Dec. 6: Plan Your Sunday Hometown Holiday

Christmas on the Farm
Sunday, Dec.6, noon – 4 p.m. @ Waterloo Farm.
This annual recreation of the holiday’s traditions includes tours of the ten-room farmhouse, the authentic log house, eight outbuildings, and the one-room Dewey School. Hand-crafted greens, homemade baked goods, and gift items will be available for purchase. Free refreshments and live music will be among the offerings for this homespun weekend.

The Nutcracker Ballet
2 p.m. @ Chelsea High School, Freer Road.
Ballet Chelsea will dazzle crowds of all ages with its 178th annual presentation of The Nutcracker, a timeless holiday classic. Visit balletchelsea.org for tickets

Chelsea Chamber Players Holiday Concert (2 shows)
3 p.m. and 7 p.m. @ Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park Street.
A special holiday performance featuring “Gloria” from Mass in B Minor by J.s. Bach, “Magnificat” by Mark Hayes, and “Concerto Grosso” by Bloch and a Christmas Carol sing-a-long. Presented by Chelsea’s talented Chamber Players with students from the Chelsea High School Orchestra (Jed Fritzemeier, Conductor), Chelsea First United Methodist Church Choir (Kyle Webber, Conductor) and Chelsea High School Choirs (Steve Hinz, Conductor). Free admission.

Chelsea Creche Celebration

2 – 7 p.m. @ Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1330 N. Freer Rd, Chelsea 

Come join us during the Chelsea Hometown Christmas Celebration as we host a special event called “O Come Let Us Adore Him”. This free event is open to the public and will feature creche displays (nativity scenes) from around the world. Along with the displays, two brief musical programs at 3PM and 6PM will feature traditional Christmas hymns as well as a performance by Tenor Stanford Olsen, professor of voice at the University of Michigan. Professor Olsen is a frequent guest soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and, in the past, has been a regular performer at the New York Metropolitan Opera House.
