Doug Howell to perform at St. Barnabas Church Saturday night

Doug Howell, a contemporary Christian recording artist will perform at St. Barnabas Church on Saturday, Aug. 18, at 8 p.m.

He’s expected to perform piano-vocal music as part of the church’s “Music and Meaning” concert series, which has been taking place all summer.

This is the third special concert at the church this summer, “which have explored some of the many ways music brings meaning to our lives,” according to the press release.

Howell has released six solo albums, the latest in 2010, “Jimmy & Me,” which was a special tribute to Howell’s favorite composer, Jimmy Webb.

His first five albums contained original, contemporary Christian songs that revolve around his faith in Jesus—and the search for love. Howell has performed as a solo artist throughout the country for the last 12 years.

Howell is expected to sing a series of original songs about moments when God brought meaning to his life in some special way.

“There are highs and lows in all of our lives, and I’ve had my share of both,” he said in a press release. “You’ll hear both joy and pain in these songs. But hopefully you’ll also meet the One who can make sense of them all.”

The concert is free and light refreshments will be served.

St. Barnabas is located at 20500 West Old US-12, across from the fairgrounds.
