The unofficial results are in from Tuesday, Aug. 4 primary and there was a 45.43 percent voter turnout in Lima Township with 1,502 votes cast of the total 3,306 registered voters.

As a result, the township will have a new supervisor in November. Republican Duane Luick received 57.06 percent of the votes cast, or a total of 299 votes. He received 214 votes in precinct 1 and 85 votes in precinct 2.

Current Supervisor Craig Maier, also a Republican, received 225 total votes or 42.94 percent. He got 148 votes in precinct 1 and 77 votes in precinct 2.

In the three-way race for township trustee, Republican Greg McKenzie was the high vote-getter with 306 votes or 36.26 percent. He received 216 votes in precinct 1 and 90 in precinct 2.

Dale Luick was the second highest vote-getter, receiving 272 total votes or 32.33 percent. He got 190 votes in precinct 1 and 82 votes in precinct 2.

Bob Spink finished third with a total of 265 votes or 31.40 percent. He received 191 votes in precinct 1 and 74 votes in precinct 2.

In the November election, McKenzie and Dale Luick will face off against David Hensel.

Voters will be asked to choose two of the three candidates.

Running in uncontested races were current Clerk Elaine Bater who got a total of 446 votes and current Treasurer Nanette Havens who got 449 votes. Both ran as Republicans.

  1. Pulling for Dale in November, he has the people’s best interest in mind and willing to do whatever it takes to provide change in whatever areas best suit the community. Nothing but respect for the Luick’s and all that they’ve done and still have yet to !
