(Chelsea Update would like to thank Chuck Armstrong for the information in this story.)
The Chelsea Lions Club is looking for dunk tank sitters for their fundraising booth at the Chelsea Community Fair from Aug. 22-26.
The dunk tank has been part of the fair for at least 35 years and the club was chartered in March 1977. Proceeds from the popular booth are distributed to the community. The Lions also help with sight and hearing projects such as Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Penrickton Center for blind children, diabetes research, Bear Lake Camp and winter camp for the blind.
Residents, teachers, public officials, coaches, neighbors living in the Chelsea, Dexter, Manchester, Grass Lake or Stockbridge area are all welcome. The club is also looking for ball chasers so contact Armstrong to get more details.
If you know of any good candidates (they must be over 5-feet tall and weigh less than 250 pounds) please contact Chuck Armstrong at [email protected] or by calling him at 734-475-8224.
As in previous years, these are 30-minute spots and you can sign up for more than one spot or time. It’s recommended that you wear swimming shoes.
