If you haven’t had a chance to see the equality proclamation that reaffirms that “the Chelsea area community is a place that does not tolerate prejudice or discriminatory treatment of any person, and welcomes people of varied backgrounds in the community,” then stop by the Chelsea State Bank office at the corner of Old US-12 and M-52.

The proclamation will be in the bank’s lobby until March 18.

In February 2012, Chelsea community leaders signed the proclamation that “resolved that the community will proactively uphold an environment of respect, dignity and mutual understanding among diverse groups and individuals.”

This year on Martin Luther King Jr., there was a ceremony to re-affirm this proclamation and to give citizens the opportunity to sign and show their support of this document.

The proclamation is traveling to different locations in the community to give everyone a chance to sign and show their support.

Support can also be expressed on the proclamation Facebook page here.
