The team at ChelseaMich.com, the official community website for Chelsea, has been making some exciting changes and has renewed their mission to provide a one-stop resource for both visitors and residents to learn, discover and explore the City of Chelsea.
Together, ChelseaMich.com and Adams Outdoor Advertising, are inviting the local businesses to participate in a breakfast discussion on marketing opportunities at the Chelsea Comfort Inn & Village Conference Center on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

The chelseamich.com site was launched in February of 2011, and is the result of collaborations between the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Chelsea Downtown Development Authority (DDA), local business owners, community members and dedicated volunteers from Chelsea.
Over the past three years, Chelsea residents and business owners, Emily Penix and Leslie Surel have worked together to keep the website fresh with current events, photos, community information and business listings. They have also fine-tuned the site with the latest upgrades and have focused efforts on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so that visitors and tourists can easily access information online about Chelsea.
“We are very excited about the upcoming launch our new dynamic “Visitic” feature, which allows visitors to explore Chelsea and create a custom, printable itinerary and map of their visit,” said website developer Surel.
In addition, the chelseamich.com team has assisted the city in branding their newly relaunched website with the ‘We’re Something Chelsea” look and feel. Penix and Surel have also redesigned and updated downtown Chelsea’s kiosk maps, which help visitors find their way around the downtown area.
The chelseamich team has also worked collaboratively with the Chelsea Wellness Foundation to develop a volunteer portal on the website, as well as a move more microsite, which showcases activity and exercise based events for residents to have fun and “move more”.
“We’re continuing to build and update our extensive resources, like the community event calendar and comprehensive business directory. By always upgrading website features and building awareness of the many resources available on chelseamich.com. We hope to promote shopping local and further establish Chelsea as a great place to live, work, and visit. ” said Surel.
To aid with community outreach, chelseamich.com has added Chelsea resident, Bridget Favre, as a new sales and marketing coordinator. Favre is also the marketing coordinator for Chelsea Area Festivals & Events which presents Hometown Holidays, Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights and the Sounds & Sights Festival.
“I have worked closely with the team at ChelseaMich.com on previous events, and have seen the results they have driven through web traffic and with electronic billboards. They are passionate about promoting the City of Chelsea and I am excited to be joining such a talented team,” said Favre.
In addition to the online website, ChelseaMich.com has partnered with Adams Outdoor to promote Chelsea businesses and events on digital billboards in southeastern Michigan. Eight billboard spots are available to Chelsea businesses, organizations and events at different times throughout the year.
“Community involvement is key to the success of our website and marketing initiatives. Funds from advertising help promote Chelsea both locally and regionally. Our team is determined to reach the potential we all envision, and have been working hard to offer the community numerous ways to share information about local businesses, organizations and events,” said Bob Pierce, executive director of Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce and ChelseaMich.com chairperson.
