The American Legion Post 31 Winter Carnival will take place Feb. 3-5 at the Legion Post, 1700 Ridge Road, in Sylvan Township.
Ice conditions pending, this winter weekend offers folks a chance to compete in the annual fishing derby on Friday afternoon, Feb. 3 followed by some card playing in the evening during the annual euchre tournament. Gather in the warmth of the Legion Hall for the tournament that begins at 7 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee, and you must be 18 years or older to play.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, start the day with breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon while the annual fishing derby begins at 7 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. At night, listen to the band BoVine and dance the night away.
On Sunday, Feb. 5, stop by the Legion for breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The carnival officially ends at 2 p.m.
Food and beverages will be sold all day during the carnival, but no alcohol will be served on Sunday, Feb. 5.
