On July 27, 1995, Julie Deppner accepted a position as a Chelsea High School math teacher. Two classrooms, 6 positions, 7 offices, and 21 years later, she plans to retire on May 1 as the assistant superintendent of schools.

“Being a teacher and administrator were lifelong dreams,” she says. “The tasks were great; the rewards even greater.”

She says she always aspired to be an assistant superintendent, but never imagined what would come next.

Deppner has accepted a position as the new CEO/Executive Director at Silver Maples of Chelsea.

“This is an amazing opportunity and I am very excited to lead this organization, while still residing in our lovely town and being an active member of the Chelsea Community,” she says, adding, “Thanks to so many of you who hired me, mentored me, supported me, and inspired me.”

Deppner says she wishes the best for all of the employees of the Chelsea School District.

“I am incredibly proud of the work we do here and I was honored to be a part of this amazing district,” Deppner says.
