Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Chelsea, continues its free summer concert series on Thursday, June 16 from 6:30- 8:30 p.m.

Professional artists perform at 11-staged areas located throughout downtown Chelsea featuring music, dance, comedy, and family entertainment.

The diverse music lineup celebrates the concert series 12th anniversary and includes a bit of Cajun and Creole by Sel de Terre at the South Street stage.  Returning crowd favorite, Anthony Lai Band, perform folk and acoustic rock at East Middle Street and Avery Goode Band brings a mix of blues and funk to the Clocktower Gazebo.

Dave Boutette returns to the East Alley stage with his unique melodies and Americana music, while newcomer to Sounds and Sights, Kelly Trudell performs originals, folk, and classic rock at Chelsea Alehouse Brewery.

There are also a few performers with strong Chelsea connections performing this week. The North Creek Fiddlers, named after the Chelsea elementary school where most of the performers work or went to school, will be playing Bluegrass, Celtic, and classic fiddle tunes at the Glazier building. Resident father and daughter duo, Gr8Road will perform acoustic rock at Sylvan Courtyard.

In addition to music, there is something for the whole family including fun balloons for the kids created by 3 Generations Twisters, and juggling entertainment by Eric the Juggler at the Clocktower Courtyard.

In partnership with Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, the Chelsea District Library’s Comedy Showcase features comic Mike Green at Katie’s Korner on the library lawn. Green has performed at premier clubs throughout the country and is known for his original, clever jokes delivered with high energy.

Spectators wishing to learn to draw are encouraged to visit the Chelsea Chalk Art area beneath the Chelsea iconic Clocktower on Main Street. Chalk and drawing examples are provided for free to all ages and levels of expertise. The theme on June 16th is “A Bug’s Life”.

After Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights, SRSLY Cinema presents free outdoor movies at dusk. This week SRSLY kicks off the series with “Croods” (PG).
