Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights welcomes back three popular professional bands on June 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at its 10 staged areas downtown, which feature music, dance, family entertainment and comedy.

The Irish Fiddler group North Creek Fiddlers will perform at the Glazier Building, electrified blues by Bull Halsey will play at East Middle Street, and jazz trio David C. Bloom and Friends will be at the Clocktower Gazebo.

“Sounds and Sights is our favorite gig of the year,” says David Bloom who has performed for last nine seasons, “We get to share these timeless tunes with old friends and new.”

Thursday’s music line-up also includes:

  • Celtic rockers Bill Grogan’s Goat at the South Street stage
  • Folk-pop duo Delbert Walling and Haley Smith at Sylvan Courtyard
  • Country singer-songwriter Kari Holmes at East Alley.

In addition to music, there is something for the whole family including 3 Generations Twisters unique balloon creations at the Main Street Alley and face painting by Dee Dee the Clown and Face Painting Robot in the Clocktower courtyard.

The Chelsea District Library’s Comedy Showcase wraps up its 4-week series with comedian Mark Knope at Katie’s Korner on the library lawn. Knope covers his material in a fun and energetic manner – peppering in sound effects, quirky facial expressions and a few celebrity impressions. He has been featured in Comedy Central’s “Stand-Up, Stand-up”, “America’s Funniest People” and various television commercials.

New this week, Little Conductors Toy Store and Train Rental will be downtown with handcar pedal trains. The pedal trains run on a track and are kid-powered using the rider’s hands. Fun for ages 3-12 years.

Spectators are invited to experience the new installation of SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided walking tour of 12 juried sculptures located throughout downtown.

And at dusk, SRSLY outdoor cinema presents “The Three Stooges” (PG).
