The Lyndon Township Board of Trustees met in front of about a dozen people on Tuesday, July 8, most of them Chelsea District Library representatives, including Library Director Bill Harmer and members of the library board.

Jerry Wilczynski, the Lyndon Township library board representative, stood to make his case for a millage question that will be on the Aug. 5 ballot. (See related story).

“When I joined the library board in January, the library had to do something to remain fiscally viable,” Wilczynski said, adding, “This was the bottom line of the situation.”

According to Wilczynski, if the millage is passed by voters (in Chelsea and Dexter, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships) “What they will be paying in the future, is pretty much what they were paying in the past. It’s just that in the interim period, people have been paying less, because property values had declined.”

In other news, there are still two positions open for alternates for township’s Zoning Board of Appeals. Interested residents can visit the township website for more information.
