New at Hometown Holiday: Light Pole Decorating and Festival of Trees

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Terris Ahrens for the information in this story.)

In lieu of the Hometown Holiday Parade, the City of Chelsea is allowing organizers to decorate the light poles downtown as well as a limited number of spaces for a small Festival of Trees in Palmer Commons.

The committee is hoping this addition will help to bring some joy, decorations and interest to the downtown this holiday season. And the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce will be offering prizes for these events. There will be a $50 People’s Choice and a $50 Chamber Choice Prize for the light poles and a $50 People’s Choice for the Festival of Trees.

Please review details, rules, guidelines and registration form here.

If you are interested, please complete the registration form online before all the spaces are gone. And, to see some of the other events happening in Chelsea, please go to https://chelseamich.com/hometown-holiday/

  1. Why not festival of trees Pierce Park where people could park and walk around and add something to that part of town. I hope the landscaping wasn’t too costly not very exciting at this point, visit Kellogg Park to see a real hometown Christmas, trees displayed and decorated by businesses in Plymouth a really beautiful downtown!

  2. I love this addition to Hometown Holiday in Chelsea. Plus I appreciate the businesses and organizations that are participating to bring some more holiday spirit to our downtown. Festival of Trees will be in Palmer Commons – plenty of parking and close to downtown. Great opportunity to walk around town, do some shopping and grab a warm drink or excellent food! Remember to support local this holiday season :).
