New Year’s holiday week trash and recycling pick-up reminder

The Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority would like to remind Chelsea residents that curbside pick-up of recycling this week will be one day later.

The west side of the city and Main Street will have its recycling picked up on Thursday, Jan. 2.

The east side of the city will have its recycling picked up on Friday, Jan. 3.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused Christmas week and are actively seeking better ways to communicate holiday schedules with our residents in a timely manner,” says Frank Hammer, chairman of the WWRA board.

In addition, all trash in the city will be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Normal pick-up dates for both trash and recycling will resume the week of Jan. 6.
