Nov. 10: 13th annual Wine, Women & Shopping event

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Doris Galvin of D&B Marketing for the information in this story.)

Wine, Women & Shopping will take place on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Never is tradition so sacred and so honored as it is during the holiday season and this year is no exception. And nowhere is the tradition more evident than in the City of Chelsea with the 13th annual Wine, Women & Shopping event.

This early November treasure heralds the holiday season with a multitude of special activities that include: live music, free raffles, specialty menus and drinks, desserts and treats, in-store demos, special discounts, wine tastings, and an artisan market.

This year’s event promises not to disappoint.

Wine, Women & Shopping kicks off the holiday shopping season, and provides an opportunity for people to come together in support of the community. For each of the past 12 years hundreds of shoppers, many of them women, have come to our historic city to shop, eat, listen to music and see a play. “We’re very grateful to all of our loyal customers,” says Jennifer Fairfield, owner of the Garden Mill. “Small business owners rely on the support of our community.”

Wine, Women & Shopping is, perhaps the embodiment of that community support. USArtQuest and the Chelsea Depot Artisans Market are accepting non-perishable items, cleaning products, paper goods for Faith in Action. While you are dropping off your donations, register to win $50 gift certificates and a Grand Prize of an overnight stay at Chelsea’s Comfort Inn, two tickets to the Purple Rose Theatre, and a $50 gift certificate to a participating restaurant.

With over 30 merchants and restaurants offering their holiday finest and customer incentives, it’s easy to understand the attraction to this event. “When you come to Chelsea, you will be met with friendly service and find stuff that you don’t find anywhere else,” said a shopper at the Potting Shed.

For many shoppers, the day doesn’t end at 6 p.m.

Smart shoppers already have reservations at a local hotel or bed and breakfast. People come in groups, mothers and daughters, sisters and cousins to have fun and shop in Chelsea. It is amazing how many people come back each year.

We welcome our residents, neighbors and friends to join us for a delightful day in Chelsea. Stephanie Moran, owner of Moran’s Consignments shared her description of the day “Happiness, a whirlwind of positive energy.” Our community of merchants, restaurant owners, artists and business owners have worked together to make Wine, Women & Shopping a successful event. See you Nov. 10.

Details of the day, including a list of participating businesses and their in-house events, are available at www.winewomenshopping.com.
