Oct. 20: Friends of the Chelsea District Library tea

library-friends-tea(Chelsea Update would like to thank Gary Munce for the information in this story.)

The week of Oct. 16-Oct.22 is the annual National Friends of the Library week.

This will officially mark the beginning of this year’s initiative by the Friends of the Chelsea District Library to enlist community support for the library.

During that week, there will be special displays and informational materials in the lobby of the library to help you learn more about the Friends and ways we can all contribute.

On Thursday, Oct. 20 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., the Friends will host an afternoon tea in the McKune Room.

We invite everyone to stop by to chat about the important role the Friends play in our fabulous library. A highlight of the tea will be a silent auction of a wonderful teapot collection donated by the Estate of Mary DeGraff.

“What better way to suggest friendliness – and to create it – than with a cup of tea?” – J. Grayson Luttrell
