Partial Jackson Street road closure begins May 29

The redevelopment of the Mack Building is expected to begin today including a temporary and partial road closure of Jackson Street on the Main Street side.

Signs reminding and redirecting motorists to alternate ways to access Jackson Street went up last week.

The partial road closure is expected to continue through July 13.

To ensure safety in the construction area, fencing will be erected and about 10 parking spaces will be closed to stage the area.

Those wishing to visit Chelsea Farmers Supply, The Depot or the Chelsea Area Historical Society Museum can do so from the other side of Jackson Street or by taking East Middle Street and turning into the driveway by the First Congregational Church or by traveling to Madison or East streets and coming in from the other direction.
